I'm April, a thirty-something SoCal native and I love to sew. I grew up crafty and was always drawn to the domestic arts, so learning to sew was something I always dreamed of. But it wasn't until late 2013 at age 32 that I made any progress in realizing that dream. I had a hand-me-down sewing machine and plenty of ideas but absolutely no skills. Eventually with the help of sewing blogs and YouTube videos, I progressed from alterations and rudimentary "self-drafted" garments to sewing with patterns and even making jeans. In 2017 I decided I wanted a 100% handmade wardrobe and I'm currently working toward that goal. I've learned so much from the sewing community and feel I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the community. On this blog I'll be sharing my finished projects and helpful tips and in the process hope to inspire you in your own sewing practice.
